Repair-specific coverage

A warranty applies to the covered work or part—not every future appliance fault.

01 · Coverage

How our written warranty works

Any express warranty provided by Peg City Appliance Service applies only to the appliance, authorized repair and replacement parts identified in the applicable invoice, work order or other written warranty record.

That document states the applicable warranty period, what labour or parts are included and any repair-specific conditions. There is no single website warranty period that automatically replaces the written terms supplied for a particular job.

Coverage normally begins on the date identified in the written warranty record. Keep the invoice and related service documents. No separate website registration is required to contact us about a possible claim.

Which document controls?

The invoice, work order or written warranty supplied for your repair controls its express coverage. This webpage explains the general claim process and does not shorten greater coverage stated in that document or provided by law.

02 · Included

What may be covered

Subject to the written terms for the repair, coverage may apply when:

  • The same reported fault returns because covered workmanship did not correct the authorized repair.
  • A replacement part supplied and installed by us fails within its stated warranty period.
  • Additional labour is directly required to correct covered workmanship or replace a covered part.
  • The invoice or work order expressly identifies another item as covered.

Warranty coverage is limited to the original authorized repair and the parts or labour stated in the written record. A similar symptom does not automatically establish that the same component or repair has failed.

03 · Limits

What is generally outside repair-specific coverage

Unless the written warranty or applicable law provides otherwise, coverage does not ordinarily apply to:

  • A new, unrelated or pre-existing fault outside the authorized repair.
  • Work that was recommended but declined, or a visit limited to diagnosis without an authorized repair.
  • Customer-supplied parts or work performed by another provider.
  • Damage caused after service by misuse, abuse, neglect, impact, improper cleaning or failure to follow operating instructions.
  • Power surges, incorrect voltage, plumbing restrictions, drain or vent problems, gas supply issues, water quality, fire, flooding, freezing, pests or other external conditions.
  • Moving, dropping, reinstalling or modifying the appliance after service.
  • Unauthorized disassembly, alteration or repair affecting the claimed issue.
  • Normal wear, cosmetic damage, consumable items or maintenance unless expressly included.
  • Loss of food, clothing, dishes, income, use or other consequential loss, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

An exclusion will not be used to deny a claim where the excluded event did not cause or contribute to the reported failure, or where applying the exclusion would conflict with a non-waivable legal right.

04 · Claim process

How to report a warranty concern

Contact us as soon as reasonably possible after noticing a potential covered problem and, where safe, stop using the appliance if continued operation could cause further damage. Reporting the issue promptly helps preserve service records and makes the fault easier to assess.

Please provide:

  • The customer name, service address and telephone number.
  • The original service date and invoice or work-order number, if available.
  • The appliance type, brand and model.
  • A clear description of the current symptom and when it began.
  • Relevant error codes, photos or video when it is safe to collect them.
  • Any changes, movement or other work performed on the appliance since our visit.

Unless urgent action is required for safety, give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the reported issue before another provider repairs, alters or removes the relevant part. We are not responsible for unauthorized third-party costs unless we agreed to them in advance or applicable law requires otherwise.

05 · Review

Inspection and available remedy

A return visit may be required to determine whether the reported symptom is related to the original authorized repair. Warranty status cannot always be confirmed from a telephone description, error code, photo or video alone.

If the issue is covered, the available remedy will be the remedy described in the written warranty and required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, this may involve correcting covered workmanship, repairing or replacing a covered part, or another appropriate resolution.

If the inspection identifies an unrelated or excluded problem, we will explain the finding and any proposed chargeable work before proceeding. Any inspection or service-call charge that could apply to a non-covered visit will be disclosed before the appointment is confirmed. No charge will be imposed contrary to the written warranty or applicable law.

We cannot promise that every covered issue can be resolved during the first return visit. Parts availability, further testing or safe access may require another appointment.

06 · Components

Replacement parts and availability

A replacement part may carry coverage from us, its manufacturer, distributor or another warranty provider. The invoice or accompanying documentation identifies available information about the provider, duration and whether labour is included.

A covered replacement is subject to compatible-part availability. When the identical part is no longer available, an appropriate substitute or another lawful remedy may be offered. Supplier and shipping delays may affect completion time.

A part removed during a warranty claim may need to be retained or returned to a supplier or manufacturer for testing, warranty administration, core credit or disposal. Ask before the work if you have questions about the removed component.

Repair or replacement under warranty does not automatically restart or extend the original coverage period unless the written warranty or applicable law states otherwise.

07 · Other providers

Manufacturer and third-party warranties

An appliance manufacturer, retailer, credit-card provider or extended-warranty company may provide separate coverage under its own terms. Contact that provider before authorizing work if you expect it to pay for or approve the repair; some programs require advance authorization or service through an approved provider.

Unless expressly stated in writing, Peg City Appliance Service is an independent appliance service business and is not the manufacturer, retailer or authorized warranty administrator for brands referenced on this website. We cannot change another provider’s coverage decision or promise reimbursement from that provider.

A manufacturer’s or third party’s decision does not alter any separate written warranty we provided for our own covered repair, and our policy does not reduce rights you may have directly against a seller or warranty provider.

08 · Legal protection

Express and implied consumer rights

This policy describes our written, repair-specific warranty process. It does not exclude, waive or reduce an implied warranty, statutory warranty, condition, remedy or other consumer right that cannot legally be excluded under Manitoba or Canadian law.

Manitoba consumer law may provide protections in addition to an express written warranty, including requirements concerning the quality of retail services. Where applicable law provides greater protection than this policy or a written warranty, the law governs.

Independent consumer information

Manitoba consumers may contact the Manitoba Consumer Protection Office for general information about warranties and consumer rights. This does not imply endorsement of our services or that a complaint has been made.

Policy updates

Changes to this policy

We may update this Warranty Policy when our service or parts practices change. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date. A written warranty already supplied for completed work will continue to be governed by the terms provided for that work unless the parties agree otherwise or applicable law requires a different result.
