01 · Scope
Who these terms apply to
These Terms and Conditions govern use of the Peg City Appliance Service website and, when they are disclosed or incorporated into a service agreement, appliance repair services supplied by Peg City Appliance Service in Winnipeg, Manitoba. “We,” “us” and “our” refer to Peg City Appliance Service; “you” and “customer” refer to the person using the website or requesting service.
Website-use provisions apply when you access or use this site. Service-specific obligations arise only when an appointment, estimate, work authorization or other service arrangement is confirmed or accepted. If a written estimate, work order or invoice conflicts with these general terms, the more specific document governs that service to the extent permitted by law.
You must be at least the age of majority in Manitoba and have authority to request work at the service address and on the appliance concerned.
02 · Booking
Appointment requests and availability
Submitting an online form, leaving a voicemail or sending an email is a request for service, not an automatic confirmation. An appointment is confirmed only after we accept the request and communicate the service date or window using the contact details you provided.
Availability depends on the service address, appliance type and condition, technician schedule, access requirements and parts availability. Any arrival or completion time is an estimate unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate material scheduling changes.
We may decline a request that is outside our service area or capabilities, involves unsupported equipment, presents a safety concern, contains inaccurate information or otherwise cannot reasonably be completed.
03 · Assessment
Diagnosis and appliance information
Information provided by telephone, email or the website helps us prepare but is not a final diagnosis. A reliable diagnosis may require an on-site inspection, testing, partial disassembly, access to the model and serial number, or operation of the appliance through a test cycle.
You agree to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge, including known symptoms, error codes, prior repairs, modifications, leaks, electrical or gas concerns and relevant damage. A diagnosis may change if testing reveals a concealed, intermittent or additional fault.
We do not guarantee that every appliance can be repaired. A repair may be impractical because of age, condition, corrosion, prior modification, discontinued parts, multiple faults or repair cost. We will explain the available next step after assessment where reasonably possible.
05 · Payment
Service charges, deposits and payment
Any service-call, diagnostic, estimate, labour, parts, delivery or other fee that applies to your appointment will be disclosed with its amount or method of calculation before you agree to it. No price displayed on a general website page is binding for a specific repair unless it is included in an accepted estimate or service agreement.
Payment is due at the time stated in the estimate, work authorization or invoice. We will identify the payment methods accepted for the job. You are responsible for applicable federal and provincial taxes and for authorized charges relating to completed work, diagnostics and ordered parts.
If a deposit or prepayment is required, we will explain what it applies to and any refund or cancellation conditions before it is collected. Special-order and non-returnable parts may have separate conditions disclosed before the order is approved.
06 · Access
Customer responsibilities
For the scheduled visit, you agree to:
- Provide a correct service address and a working telephone number.
- Ensure an adult with authority to approve work and payment is present or reachable.
- Provide safe, reasonable and unobstructed access to the appliance, utility connections and relevant shut-offs.
- Secure pets and disclose pests, water damage, gas concerns, electrical hazards or other known risks before work starts.
- Remove food, clothing, dishes and personal property when reasonably necessary for access or testing.
- Follow reasonable post-service operating, safety and monitoring instructions.
We are not responsible for delay or inability to complete work caused by unavailable access, unsafe conditions, inaccurate information or the absence of a person able to authorize the work. Any resulting charge applies only if it was disclosed and accepted in advance.
07 · Components
Replacement parts
The estimate or work authorization will identify available information about proposed replacement parts. Depending on availability and your approval, parts may be supplied by the appliance manufacturer or by another compatible supplier. We do not represent a part as new, original-equipment, reconditioned or used unless that description is accurate and disclosed.
Part supply and delivery dates are estimates and may change because of manufacturer, distributor or shipping delays. If an authorized part becomes unavailable or materially changes in price, we will contact you before substituting it or proceeding at a revised price.
If you want a removed part returned, ask before the repair begins. Return may not be possible where the part must be sent to a supplier or manufacturer for warranty, core credit, testing or regulated disposal, or where keeping it would be unsafe or unlawful.
08 · Appointments
Scheduling, cancellation and delays
Appointment windows and completion dates are reasonable estimates, not guarantees, unless expressly agreed otherwise. Severe Winnipeg weather, road conditions, earlier service calls, technician availability, supplier delays, concealed faults or safety concerns may affect timing.
Customer cancellations, rescheduling requests, missed visits, deposits and special-order parts are governed by our Cancellation Policy and any specific conditions disclosed before the appointment or parts order was confirmed.
We may postpone, stop or decline service when conditions are unsafe, the requested work is outside our capabilities, required information or authorization is unavailable, or continuing would be unlawful or unreasonable. We will explain the next available step where practical.
09 · After service
Repair and parts warranty
Any written warranty supplied for our labour or a replacement part is described in the invoice, work order or our Warranty Policy . Coverage, duration, exclusions and the claim process depend on the specific repair and part supplied.
A manufacturer or third-party warranty is administered under that provider’s terms. Unless expressly stated, Peg City Appliance Service is not the appliance manufacturer, is not an authorized representative of a referenced brand and cannot change another provider’s warranty decision.
Nothing in these terms excludes or reduces a warranty, condition, remedy or other consumer right that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or reduce.
10 · Online use
Website content and permitted use
Website content is provided for general information and booking convenience. Troubleshooting information is not a substitute for an on-site diagnosis and should not be used where doing so could expose a person or property to electricity, gas, heat, moving parts, water or another hazard.
You may use the website for lawful personal purposes. You may not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious code, impersonate another person, harvest information, make fraudulent requests or reproduce substantial website content for commercial use without permission.
Website text, graphics, branding and original design elements belong to us or their respective licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Brand names and logos belonging to appliance manufacturers remain the property of their respective owners. References to a brand identify appliances we may service and do not by themselves imply sponsorship or affiliation.
Third-party links, maps and embedded tools are provided for convenience. Their content, availability and handling of information are governed by their own terms and policies. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy .
11 · Limits
Safety, service limitations and liability
Our booking service is not an emergency response service. If you smell gas, see smoke or sparking, suspect fire or carbon monoxide, or face active flooding or another immediate danger, leave the area when appropriate and contact emergency services, the relevant utility or an appropriately qualified emergency professional.
Some symptoms may have more than one cause, and repairing one diagnosed fault does not guarantee that an older or previously damaged appliance will remain free from unrelated failures. We do not guarantee that parts will be available, that every repair can be completed in one visit or that repair will be more economical than replacement.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible for an indirect, incidental or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the service was agreed. Any responsibility we may have will be assessed in light of the authorized work, the actual loss, each party’s conduct and applicable law.
These terms do not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability or remedy that cannot legally be limited. They also do not require you to give up a non-waivable right under Manitoba or Canadian consumer law.
12 · Legal terms
Consumer rights, disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without limiting any mandatory consumer protection available to you. Where applicable law conflicts with these terms, the law governs.
If you have a concern, please contact us promptly with the customer name, service address, appliance, service date and a clear description of the issue. We will review the available service records and try to resolve the matter directly. This informal process does not prevent either party from using a court, regulator or other remedy available by law.
If one provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.

Updates
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions when our website, services or business practices change. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Terms accepted for an already confirmed service continue to govern that service unless the parties agree otherwise or applicable law requires a different result.
